Ukraine's Defense Forces Debunk Russian Claims Of 'Vovchansk Cauldron'
“On the eve of the State Duma elections, amid a deepening energy crisis and burning oil refineries and warehouses, Russian propaganda is desperately continuing to manufacture media victories. One telling example is the inflation of the information bubble called the 'Vovchansk cauldron,' which has been going on for the past three months.
“Today, Russia's Defense Ministry and the Sever military grouping announced the capture of Vasylivka, Dovzhanka, Blahodatne and Slyzneve and the 'closing of the Vovchansk cauldron.' Enemy media are creating a triumphant narrative to push inconvenient issues for the Russian authorities out of the information space and stifle discussion about possible mobilization after the elections,” the Corps said.
The Corps assured that no positions had been lost in the 16th Army Corps' area of responsibility over the past six months. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are not only stopping enemy offensive attempts but have also restored their positions near the settlements of Milove and Odradne.
Currently, the enemy is attempting to infiltrate deeper into the defensive lines of 16th Army Corps units in small infantry groups. However, such groups are detected in time and subjected to fire strikes, the Corps said.
“Enemy losses over the past week: 154 servicemen killed and 124 wounded. One multiple rocket launcher, four guns, 17 pieces of specialized equipment and 43 vehicles were destroyed,” the Corps reported.
The Corps emphasized that the claim about the“Vovchansk cauldron” would take an honored place in the history of Russian lies alongside the“control of Kupiansk” and the“liberation of Sviatohirsk.”
