Labour Minister Meets ILO Regional Office Team
Amman, Sept. 3 (Petra)-- Minister of Transport and Minister of Labor Nidal Al-Qatamin on Thursday received a delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO) Regional Office for Arab States in Beirut.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Labor, was attended by the ministry's Secretary-General Abdul Halim Doujan; ILO Country Coordinator in Jordan Amal Mowafi; Senior International Labour Standards Specialist Christine-Maria Shabira; Decent Work Country Programme Officer Vitaly Aldany; and CEO of the Jordan Garments, Accessories and Textiles Exporter's Association Rose Al-Assi.
The meeting addressed a number of joint files and programs aimed at supporting government efforts to develop the labor market and enhance decent working conditions.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and the ILO, as well as maintaining continued coordination to ensure the swift implementation of joint projects, achieve their intended objectives, and benefit from the organization's technical expertise in various labor-related fields.
