Empowering Women To Save Lives: European Union Capacity Building Mission In Somalia (EUCAP Somalia) Strengthens Federal Darwish Medical Capabilities
Through its support to the Federal Darwish, EUCAP Somalia is strengthening not only operational capabilities, but also the ability to save lives in the field.
As part of this effort, 15 female Federal Darwish police officers took part in an intensive Enhanced Medical Training, building on the knowledge and skills they had previously gained through EUCAP Somalia-supported Federal Darwish training courses.
Selected from Fedral Darwish cohort 3–5, the participants trained in the theory and practical application of the MARCHE protocol, based on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). The training was tailored to the future operational tasks of Federal Darwish, with a strong emphasis on hands-on exercises and practical skills.
Throughout the course, the participants showed remarkable motivation, commitment and team spirit - putting their skills into practice and preparing to provide critical medical support as part of future deployable teams.
