India-Germany Strengthen Cooperation On Energy Security & Low-Carbon Development


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Sep 3 (KNN) India and Germany reviewed ongoing cooperation in the energy sector, with discussions focusing on energy security, electrification, low-carbon development, carbon markets and supply-chain diversification.

Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal held a bilateral meeting with German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Climate Protection and Nuclear Safety Carsten Schneider in New Delhi.

The two Ministers discussed ongoing initiatives and explored areas for deeper cooperation, building on bilateral relations that recently marked 75 years of diplomatic ties and 25 years of the Strategic Partnership.

Both sides agreed that energy security, low-carbon development and carbon markets are closely linked and reaffirmed their commitment to a secure, affordable and sustainable energy future.

The Ministers also agreed to continue engagement on the identified areas of cooperation in the coming months.
