Walmart Vriddhi MSME Connect Kolkata 2026 Focuses On Market Access, Export Readiness

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Sep 3 (KNN) Walmart Vriddhi, in partnership with Ideas to Impact Foundation (i2i), organised MSME Connect Kolkata 2026 to help West Bengal entrepreneurs strengthen business capabilities, digital adoption and access to domestic and international markets.

The event brought together representatives from the Department of MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Walmart Marketplace, Flipkart and other industry and ecosystem stakeholders.

Sessions focused on export readiness, digital commerce, cross-border trade and market access. Entrepreneurs also received guidance on using e-commerce platforms and strengthening business and digital capabilities.

Sumit Gupta, Secretary, Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, said strengthening MSME capabilities through digital tools and expanding e-commerce market access are important for sustainable growth.

Vishnu Kant, Joint DGFT, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, said MSMEs can expand their international presence by strengthening their understanding of cross-border trade, using Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and leveraging schemes under the Export Promotion Mission.

Avaneesh Gupta, Senior Vice President, General Merchandising & Fashion Sourcing, Walmart, said Walmart Vriddhi is helping entrepreneurs adopt digital tools, strengthen business capabilities and explore new markets.

The programme is engaging MSMEs across Kolkata and other centres including Howrah, Durgapur, Siliguri, Asansol, Kharagpur and Malda, covering sectors such as handicrafts, textiles, handloom, food processing, leather, engineering goods and jute.

Since its launch in 2019, Walmart Vriddhi has trained more than 115,000 MSMEs across India and aims to support 170,000 MSMEs by 2028.
