MOCI Co-Organizes Workshop On Pre-Implementation Of Economic Concentration Transactions
A statement issued by MOCI on Thursday affirmed that the workshop, organized by the Competition Protection Department at MOCI in cooperation with the Saudi General Authority for Competition, addressed several topics aimed at enhancing the understanding of the risks of pre-implementation of economic concentration transactions, and clarifying the dividing lines between legitimate preparatory procedures and prohibited pre-implementation, thereby contributing to enhancing compliance with competition rules during the pre-approval phase.
The workshop included a presentation of the legal framework regulating economic concentration transactions in the State of Qatar, in addition to a discussion of several relevant international and Gulf issues and experiences.
This workshop comes as part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange technical expertise with specialized bodies, which contributes to spreading knowledge and raising the efficiency of work in the field of competition law.
