Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) participated in the "Walk Your Kids to School" campaign, launched by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) to coincide with the start of the new academic year.

As part of the campaign, 6,000 roses were presented to parents at 103 schools in recognition of their commitment to taking their children to school and to highlight the importance of parental presence and the family's role in supporting children and helping them begin their school day on a positive note.

The ministry's participation comes as part of its cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, reflecting the two entities' joint efforts to support families and strengthen their role as key partners in the educational and upbringing process. It also seeks to promote practices that strengthen the relationship between parents and children and enhance children's sense of care, security and stability.

The "Walk Your Kids to School" campaign aims to encourage parents to be more present and involved in their children's daily lives, while turning the daily school journey into an opportunity for conversation, connection and building trust. This, in turn, helps prepare children psychologically and emotionally for a positive start to their school day.

In this context, Maryam Abdullah Al-Mohannadi, Director of the Public Relations and Communications Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said the campaign's ultimate goal goes beyond simply taking children to school. It highlights the importance of parents' presence in their children's lives and their involvement in their daily experiences, given the impact this has on building their personalities and strengthening their sense of security, care and belonging.

She explained that the ministry's participation took the form of a symbolic gesture, with 6,000 roses presented to parents at 103 schools in appreciation of their efforts to take their children to school and share the beginning of their school day with them. She noted that the gesture received a positive response from parents and schools, reflecting the campaign's positive messages about the importance of family presence in children's lives.

The "Walk Your Kids to School" campaign will continue throughout the academic year through awareness content and interactive activities implemented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in cooperation with participating entities. These efforts aim to expand the campaign's impact, reinforce its messages and strengthen parental involvement in their children's educational and developmental journey.
