Foundation For Financial Planning To Spotlight The Pro Bono Planning Experience On Future Proof Festival's Main Stage

Washington, D.C., Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP), the nation's leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to pro bono financial planning for people in crisis or need, will take the main stage at Future Proof Festival on Tuesday, September 15 to offer a rare firsthand look at the pro bono planning experience through the perspectives of both a client and his advisor.

FFP connects volunteer CFP® professionals with people navigating financial crises that fall outside most firms' client profile: military families, cancer patients, seniors, low-income households, and others facing challenging circumstances that call for objective, trustworthy guidance they might not otherwise have access to.

This year's session,“The Advisor Effect: How Pro Bono Planning Changes Lives,” brings that mission to life through one such relationship. Darrell Siggers was released from prison in 2018 after serving 34 years for a crime he didn't commit, with a state settlement and no roadmap for the high-stakes decisions that came with it. Through its partnership with After Innocence, FFP connected financial advisor Jared Jones, CFP®, Partner and Senior Advisor at Omega Wealth Management, with Siggers to provide pro bono financial planning and help him navigate what came next. The two will join FFP CEO Jon Dauphiné on stage for a candid conversation about their experience working together, the challenges they navigated, and the impact the relationship had on both client and advisor.
