Huawei Signs ICT Academy Cooperation Agreements With Five Saudi Universities At LEAP 2026
(MENAFN- Mid-East Info) Landmark signings bring Huawei's globally recognized ICT training program to new regions of the Kingdom, advancing Vision 2030's digital talent agenda
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, September, 2026: Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. has signed ICT Academy cooperation agreements with five Saudi universities at LEAP 2026, expanding one of the world's most recognized ICT talent programs across the Kingdom and reinforcing Huawei's commitment to building the skilled digital workforce that Saudi Vision 2030 demands. The signing ceremonies took place at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center, Malham, bringing together University of Bisha, Qassim University, King Khalid University, University of Jeddah, and Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University as new Huawei ICT Academy partners. The agreements equip each institution with structured ICT curricula, hands-on training resources, and a pathway for students to earn internationally recognized certifications, including the Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA). Skills trainings span across cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and data communications, enhancing graduate employability in Saudi Arabia's rapidly expanding digital economy. Advancing Nationwide Digital Talent Pipeline: With partner institutions situated at Bisha, Al Qassim, Abha, Jeddah, and Al Kharj, the Huawei ICT Academy now reaches across multiple regions of Saudi Arabia, extending access to high-quality, industry-aligned ICT education well beyond the Kingdom's major urban centers. Faculty at each partner university will benefit from Huawei's train-the-trainer model, gaining access to technical resources, curriculum development tools, and continuous program updates that keep classroom learning aligned with industry demand. Students from all five universities will also be eligible to compete in the Huawei ICT Competition, Huawei's global flagship talent program recognized by UNESCO's Global Skills Academy as a key partner in fostering digital skills, opening doors to regional competition, international recognition, and career-defining opportunities. Liam Zhao, Chairman of Huawei Saudi Arabia, said:“The Huawei ICT Academy is built on the belief that world-class digital talent must be cultivated locally through education that is structured, industry-aligned, and designed to meet real workforce needs. Today's signings bring us closer to that goal, extending our commitment to five more outstanding Saudi institutions and ensuring that the Kingdom's next generation of engineers, developers, and digital leaders are equipped and ready for the intelligent era.” Held against the backdrop of LEAP 2026, where Huawei is advancing its theme of 'Advancing Industrial All Intelligence,' and aligned with the event's own vision of 'Into New Worlds,' the MoUs stand as a solid expression of Huawei's conviction that innovation begins with developing people, and is among the most powerful contributions any technology partner can make to Saudi Arabia's future.
