Mihhail Berezovski is a tenured Associate Professor of Mathematical Sciences and Program Coordinator for the B.S. in Data Science at Embry‐Riddle Aeronautical University, and serves as Director of Undergraduate Research. He is a results-driven leader who has transformed the culture of undergraduate research, driving unprecedented growth in student participation, research output and institutional engagement across the campus.

Under his leadership, undergraduate research at Embry‐Riddle has experienced record-breaking expansion, with engagement reaching thousands of students annually, significant increases in funded projects and major growth in conference participation and research dissemination. This growth has been driven by evidence-based, data-driven decision-making and effective budget management, ensuring scalable and sustainable programs while maintaining broad access to high-quality research experiences. His engagement with philanthropic partners has further expanded funding opportunities and supported high-impact initiatives.

For over a decade, Dr. Berezovski has advanced data science education through innovative, applied approaches and strong cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaborations. He has developed a sustainable model that connects students with real-world, industry-driven problems, enabling authentic data-enabled research experiences.

Dr. Berezovski is highly effective at building strategic partnerships with industry, government and nonprofit organizations. He has established long-term collaborations with dozens of external partners, creating sustained opportunities for student research and applied learning.

Dr. Berezovski has personally mentored over 200 students, guiding them through impactful research experiences and professional development. His work has directly contributed to measurable growth in student success, research productivity and external visibility.

He has secured external funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, Federal Aviation Administration and the Mathematical Association of America, and works closely with Embry‐Riddle Centers of Excellence to expand research capacity and impact.

He has received multiple awards recognizing his leadership and mentorship, including the Embry‐Riddle College of Arts & Sciences' Dean's Award for Leadership and Innovation (2022), Embry‐Riddle Faculty Mentor of the Year (2022), Embry‐Riddle College of Arts & Sciences' Award for Undergraduate Student Mentorship (2023), and the 2024 Faculty Mentor Award from the Mathematical, Computing and Statistical Sciences Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research.

Through his leadership, Dr. Berezovski has built a scalable, data-driven undergraduate research ecosystem and continues to position Embry‐Riddle as a national leader in integrating undergraduate research and cross-sector collaboration to address complex real-world challenges.
