Ruder Finn Asia Launches AI Visibility Offering, Hires Chief AI Officer

(MENAFN- PRovoke) HONG KONG - Ruder Finn Asia has launched an AI visibility and generative engine optimisation advisory service across Asia-Pacific, as the consultancy steps up its investment in helping brands manage how they appear in generative AI results.

The new AI Visibility & GEO Advisory is designed to measure, monitor and improve how brands are understood, represented and cited across platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Overviews.

The consultancy has also appointed Chung Kai“CK” Lim as vice president and chief AI officer for AI product and strategy across Asia and Greater China. Lim joins Ruder Finn from Dell Technologies, where he was Asia-Pacific and Japan lead for digital demand generation.

He has also held senior regional marketing roles at Cognizant and Edelman, with experience spanning generative AI deployment, marketing technology transformation, digital campaigns and sales enablement across more than 10 markets.

At Ruder Finn, Lim will oversee AI adoption and digital transformation across the consultancy's more than 800 people and 30 Asia-Pacific offices, as well as shaping its client-facing AI product roadmap.

“Communications consultancies are uniquely placed to lead in the answer engine era because we already create the press releases, earned media, executive bylines and third-party content that AI models trust and cite,” said Lim.

“My focus is twofold. Internally, we are making AI the default operating layer across every workflow. Externally, we are giving clients the visibility, control and citation share they need to protect and grow their brands.”

The GEO offering includes audits benchmarking brands against competitors across major AI platforms; ongoing monitoring of narratives and sentiment; content optimisation intended to improve citations and authority signals; and technical work including schema, llms and entity signal optimisation. It will also provide monitoring and optimisation across English, Mandarin, Cantonese and key Southeast Asian languages.

The launch builds on Ruder Finn's growing investment in proprietary AI products across the region. PRovoke Media's 2026 profile of the consultancy highlighted existing tools including its SONAR crisis simulation platform, EchoLocate Scenario Planner, AISEO brand monitoring tool and BRAND Watcher AI, as well as the appointment of former OpenAI executive Zack Kass as chair of the Ruder Finn AI Advisory Council.

“Communications has entered a new era where influence is measured not only by what people read, but by what AI understands, cites and recommends,” said Elan Shou, Ruder Finn global chief growth officer and managing director of Asia and Greater China.

“AI visibility is not a standalone discipline, it's an evolution of strategic communications. The same trusted content that shapes reputation through media, thought leadership and executive visibility now shapes how AI platforms understand and recommend brands.”

The launch comes shortly after Ruder Finn was named PRovoke Media's 2026 Asia-Pacific Consultancy of the Year. Ruder Finn has also expanded its physical footprint in the region over the past year. In July last year, it acquired Southeast Asian network Era Communications, adding operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
