Iran Reports Dozens Killed, Over Hundred Injured in US Attacks
(MENAFN) Eighteen people are killed and another 108 are injured in Iran during US military strikes on Tuesday, according to the country’s health authorities.
Iran’s Health Minister Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi provides the casualty figures on Wednesday, while no additional details about the victims or affected locations are immediately released.
The US Central Command says late Tuesday that American forces carry out strikes against targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Following the US announcement, reports of explosions emerge from several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar and Konarak.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps later says it launches attacks against several US military installations in neighboring countries, including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain and Iraq.
Washington and Tehran previously sign a memorandum of understanding on June 18, 2026, with the agreement aimed at stopping hostilities and restoring navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. However, differences over how the deal should be implemented and security arrangements surrounding the waterway prevent the agreement from moving forward, while fighting resumes in July.
