Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has uncovered several violations during a six-month inspection campaign targeting ride-hailing companies, including operating without a business licence, using unlicensed apps and failing to meet required service quality standards.

The campaign, conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), inspected a total of 987 vehicles in areas and destinations with high traffic and business activity, including Metro stations, Old Doha Port, Katara, The Pearl Island and shopping malls.

The Ministry said the campaign is part of its efforts to strengthen field oversight of land transportation activities and ensure a safe and well-regulated mobility environment in the country.

It added that the campaign also aims to ensure the quality of services provided to the public by intensifying oversight of companies' compliance with vehicle quality, cleanliness and maintenance standards, as well as regulations on land transportation activities.
