Education Ministry Unveils Professional Development Plan To Strengthen Employees' Skills

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Training and Development Center, organised an introductory workshop to present its professional development training plan to ministry employees.

Held at the ministry's headquarters under the theme,“Explore Your Development Opportunities... and Be a Partner in Building Your Career Path,” the workshop was attended by a large number of ministry officials and employees.

The workshop aimed to introduce employees to the key directions of the training development plan and highlight the training pathways, programmes and opportunities available to them. It also sought to help employees identify their professional development needs and align them with their job requirements and career goals.

The session highlighted the role of employees in identifying their own development needs and linking professional development with their current job responsibilities and career paths. It also aimed to raise awareness of the opportunities available and encourage employees to take an active role in shaping their professional careers.

Head of the Administrative Training Section at the Training and Development Center Latifa Dismal Al Kuwari, said the training development plan represents a shift in the concept of professional development, moving beyond simply attending training programmes toward building a development pathway that is more closely aligned with employees' actual needs and job requirements.

“We aspire for employees to view training as an investment in their career path, rather than simply a training programme they attend. Real development begins when an employee understands what needs to be developed, chooses the appropriate opportunity, and then translates what they have learned into tangible performance and impact in the workplace,” she said.

She added that the Training and Development Center seeks to empower employees by providing access to diverse and valuable development opportunities and supporting them in selecting programmes that best match their needs and career paths.

Such efforts, she noted, contribute to building sustainable institutional capabilities while supporting the ministry's priorities and future directions.

The workshop forms part of the Training and Development Center's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of continuous professional development and enable ministry employees to make effective use of available training opportunities. These initiatives are intended to strengthen employees' capabilities, improve their performance and contribute to achieving the ministry's objectives and strategic directions.

Following the workshop, the Training and Development Center team held an open meeting with employees, addressing their inquiries and answering questions related to training and professional development programmes.
