Sheikh Joaan Felicitates QOC Staff For Service, Professional Development

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani has honoured 102 of the organisation's staffers for their career achievements and professional development.

The ceremony was held yesterday in Doha and recognized the honorees' years of service, professional excellence and participation in development programs, with the committee highlighting its efforts to promote continued learning and career development.

The event was attended by senior QOC officials including Mohammed bin Yousef al-Mana, the first vice-president; Thani bin Abdulrahman al-Kuwari, the second vice-president and Jassim bin Rashid al-Buenain, the secretary general. Of the 102 employees honoured, 30 received recognition awards, while 72 were graduates of the committee's professional development programs in 2025.

The service award included employees who had completed 25 years or more with the committee, as well as retirees who had concluded their careers. Excellence awards were presented across three categories covering supervisory positions, specialist roles and other employees.

Five incentive awards recognized professional commitment, initiative, teamwork, outstanding team leadership and effective participation in organizing sporting events. Seven employees also received the Tomouh (ambition) award for obtaining academic qualifications during 2025. Director of the committee's Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department Maryam al Kuwari said the organisation was focused on attracting talented professionals from leading universities, particularly in specialized fields.

She said 277 employees from different departments had graduated from the five development programs since their launch. The committee also delivered nearly 100 training, awareness and educational courses and programs during 2025, she added. (QNA)
