Several Countries Pledge Additional Air Defense Systems For Ukraine Kallas

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said this at a press conference following the meeting, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Kallas emphasized that Moscow had not changed its war aims and that“Russian strikes on Kyiv again killed dozens in recent days. This makes it abundantly clear that Moscow does not want peace.”

According to the EU's top diplomat, the bloc is focused on providing Ukraine with what it needs to defend itself.

“Through the Ukraine Support Loan, we have disbursed the first €8.47 billion. Another €6.1 billion has been approved, including for air defense. But this is not enough. Bilateral support is also needed, and we were pleased to hear today announcements by Member States to provide air defense that we have been so long asking for,” the EU High Representative said.

Asked about the number of interceptor missiles pledged to Ukraine, Kallas said that the countries that had committed to providing them would announce the details themselves.

As reported by Ukrinform, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas called on EU member states to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles from their own stocks to help the country defend itself against Russia's ongoing attacks.
