Afghan, Indian Post Officials Discuss E-Commerce, Transit Cooperation

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) "> KABUL (Pajhwok): Officials from Afghan Post and India Post have discussed expanding postal services, e-commerce, direct transit transfers, professional capacity-building and bilateral cooperation.

The General Department of State-Owned Corporations of Afghanistan said Mawlawi Rahmatullah Makki, chief executive officer of state-owned Afghan Post, met with the deputy director-general for foreign relations and global trade at India Post and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of the 14th Congress of the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU).

According to the source, the two sides discussed improving the quality of postal services, enhancing employees' professional capacities, expanding e-commerce, facilitating direct transit transfers and exploring opportunities for cooperation in various areas of postal services.

The source added that the two sides had reached an understanding on some issues and would hold further meetings to finalise the remaining matters and reach a final agreement.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Post delegation has been holding bilateral meetings with representatives of postal administrations from various countries on the sidelines of the congress. It had earlier held talks with an Iranian delegation on expanding postal cooperation and opportunities for joint collaboration.
