General Staff Confirms Strike On Novatek-Ust-Luga Refinery In Russia's Leningrad Region
On September 1, units of Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the refinery in Slobidka, Leningrad region. The target was confirmed to have been hit, followed by a fire at the facility.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The Novatek production complex in Ust-Luga is a facility for the fractionation and transshipment of stabilized gas condensate, located at the port of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea. The complex has a designed processing capacity of more than 6 million tons of stabilized gas condensate per year.
The facility produces light and heavy oil, kerosene, diesel fractions and a marine fuel component (fuel oil).
The complex is part of Novatek's production and logistics infrastructure at the port of Ust-Luga.
The facility is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.
