QAIA Passenger Traffic Rebounds To Nearly 1 Million In July
Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) -- The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) handled 967,652 passengers in July 2026, up 29.2 percent from June 2026 but down 1.2 percent from July 2025, according to Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company operating the airport.
Aircraft movements reached 7,403 during July, an increase of 21.1 percent from June, while air cargo rose 16 percent to 7,594 tonnes.
The AIG said the July figures marked a rebound in activity following fluctuations in previous months, supported by increased travel demand during the peak summer season.
Commenting on the results, Nicolas Deviller, Chief Executive Officer of Airport International Group, said July's performance underscored the importance of connectivity to Jordan's tourism, trade and broader economy, particularly during the summer travel season.
"With passenger traffic approaching one million in a single month, QAIA continues to play a critical role in facilitating movement into and out of the Kingdom," he said. "Our priority is to build on this momentum by ensuring the airport is equipped to respond to changing demand while maintaining the high standards of service, efficiency and connectivity expected by travelers and our airline partners." //Petra// AO
