Saint Levant Delays US Tour Amid Visa Standoff

(MENAFN) Palestinian singer-songwriter Saint Levant revealed Tuesday that his North American tour has been pushed back to spring 2027, citing an unresolved dispute with US immigration authorities over his visa status.

"I am unfortunately announcing the postponement of my North American tour," the artist wrote in a statement posted to social media.

The musician, born Marwan Abdelhamid, said he's contended with "major US visa issues" for years. While his application had initially cleared, he explained that he was "unexpectedly asked to undergo additional background checks, which could take a number of months."

He said the decision to delay the shows came only after consulting his legal team and speaking with fellow Palestinian and Arab artists who've navigated comparable obstacles. "After discussions with my legal team, and speaking with some of my Palestinian and Arab peers who have gone through similar experiences," he wrote, the choice to postpone the North American leg until spring 2027 was ultimately a "difficult decision" — one made in hopes that his visa situation will be resolved by then.

Saint Levant was born in Jerusalem and spent his early childhood in the Gaza Strip before relocating with his family to Amman, Jordan, at age seven.

His music — a fusion of Arabic, English and French lyrics layered over hip-hop, R&B and electronic production — has earned him a growing international following, with much of his songwriting centered on Palestinian identity, cultural heritage and the experience of displacement.

Despite the North American setback, his global itinerary continues: Saint Levant is still set to take the stage at Istanbul's Volkswagen Arena on Dec. 10, part of his ongoing "Afandi World Tour."
