Hind Rajab Foundation Takes Legal Action Against Israeli Soldier
(MENAFN) The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) files a criminal complaint in Greece against Israeli soldier Oran Rubin, accusing him of war crimes and genocide.
The foundation says documented evidence places Rubin at two locations in the Gaza Strip where extensive destruction occurred, adding that the Israeli soldier is currently in Athens.
According to the complaint, Israeli forces seized control of Palestine Square in December 2023 and "systematically destroyed the civilian district surrounding the square, first with tanks, bulldozers, and fire, and later through the controlled demolition of buildings that remained standing."
The foundation says Rubin later shared photographs showing him posing on top of the ruins of Palestine Square during that period.
Other photographs reportedly show Rubin outside and inside the Al-Taqwa Mosque after Israeli forces took control of the Sheikh Radwan area in Gaza City.
The complaint argues that Rubin's alleged actions could amount to multiple war crimes, including deliberate attacks on religious structures and civilian property, unlawful and militarily unjustified large-scale destruction of property, as well as attacks against towns, homes and buildings that were not being used as military objectives.
