Jordanian Air Defenses Intercept Ten Missiles Entering Airspace
(MENAFN) Jordanian air defense systems intercept 10 of 13 ballistic missiles that enter the kingdom’s airspace, while the remaining three land in remote locations, according to reports on Wednesday.
The incident occurs as regional tensions intensify, marking the second Iranian missile attack targeting Jordan in less than two days.
Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it launches ballistic missiles at a US Marine facility in Jordan known as “Camp Titin.” The group describes the strike as retaliation for a US attack on a residence where a wedding ceremony was taking place in Sirik County, Hormozgan province.
The IRGC claims the attack results in the deaths of a large number of US military personnel. Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) says Tuesday that it carries out strikes against IRGC positions inside Iran.
Iranian officials say an initial assessment indicates that at least four people are killed and 50 others injured after the US strike hits a residence and wedding gathering in Kuhestek.
