Ride To Independence: KP Approves Free E-Scooters For Women
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has given in-principle approval to provide free electric scooters to female students and working women.
In the first phase, female students and working women in Peshawar will be provided free electric scooters by the provincial government. Eligible women will be selected through a computerized balloting process.
A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi was held to discuss the provision of free electric scooters to female students and working women, where he was briefed on the project.
The chief minister directed authorities to take immediate steps to provide scooters under the first phase and ensure full funding for the project. He also directed that a steering committee, technical working group, and grievance redressal committee be notified immediately to oversee the implementation of the scheme.

According to the briefing, the free electric scooter scheme will be expanded to other districts of the province in the next phase.
Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said the free electric scooter scheme would help empower and enable female students and working women to become more independent.
He said the provision of scooters would ensure safer and easier access to education and employment opportunities for women.
Sohail Afridi said the environment-friendly electric scooter scheme would help reduce air pollution while also promoting women's economic independence.
The chief minister said practical measures would continue to be taken to invest in people and promote women's development, confidence, and empowerment.
