Ukraine's Air Defenses Down 138 Russian Drones, Three Banderol Uavs Overnight

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

As noted, starting at 18:00 Tuesday, September 1, Russian forces launched the following at Ukraine:

• two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea;
• two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles from airspace over the Black Sea;
• 174 attack drones, including Shahed-type UAVs (about half of them jet-powered), S8000 Banderol loitering munitions, Gerbera UAVs, and Parodiya-type decoy drones. The launches were carried out from the vicinity of the Russian city of Oryol, as well as from the temporarily occupied areas of Hvardiiske in Crimea and Donetsk.

The main targets of the enemy attack were Odesa and Kyiv regions.

The Russian attack was repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire teams of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 on Wednesday, September 2, air defense had shot down or jammed three S8000 Banderol munitions and 138 drones of various types, including Shahed jet-powered drones, and Gerbera UAVs.

Hits by enemy missiles and attack UAVs were recorded at 16 locations. At four more locations, debris from downed targets fell.

The Air Force emphasized that enemy drones are still being detected in Ukrainian airspace.

As reported by Ukrinform, overnight on September 2, Russian forces struck an industrial facility in the Poltava region.
