Military Plant Manufacturing Rocket Engines Catches Fire Near Perm, Media Reports

Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a fire at a“manufacturing facility” in the village of Novye Lyady, stating that the fire covered an area of 2,100 square meters.

No information about casualties has been reported.

Local social media groups, citing eyewitnesses, report that the fire occurred at the“Proton-Perm Motors” plant, located near the village.

It is noted that“Proton-M” is one of the largest enterprises in Russia's rocket and space industry and specializes in the production of liquid-fuel rocket engines.

It manufactures engines for the“Proton” and“Angara” launch vehicles. The plant is part of the Roscosmos State Corporation and the“Energomash” integrated structure.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of August 19, drones attacked the Sverdlov Military Plan in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, causing extensive smoke on the premises.
