US Strikes in Iran's Khuzestan Kill Seven, Injure Eight

(MENAFN) Seven people were killed and eight others wounded last Tuesday when US missile strikes hit Iran's southern Khuzestan province, according to reports.

Khuzestan Deputy Gov. Valiollah Hayati told Iran's official news agency that the casualties resulted from missile strikes on three separate locations within the province, with the attacks striking areas surrounding the cities of Ahvaz and Aghajari.

The US military's Central Command confirmed it had carried out the strikes, saying they targeted sites linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

In the wake of that announcement, Iranian media outlets reported hearing explosions in several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar, and Konarak.
