7 Dead, 8 Hurt in US Missile Strikes on Iran's Khuzestan Province
(MENAFN) Seven people were killed and eight others wounded in US missile strikes carried out last Tuesday in Iran's southern Khuzestan province, according to reports.
Khuzestan Deputy Gov. Valiollah Hayati told Iran's official news agency that the casualties resulted from missile strikes on three separate locations within the province, with the attacks concentrated around the cities of Ahvaz and Aghajari.
The strikes were confirmed by the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM), which announced it had targeted sites belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). In the wake of that announcement, Iranian media reported explosions heard on Qeshm Island and in the cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar and Konarak.
