Israel Intercepts Suspected Aircraft from Lebanon

(MENAFN) Israel's military said Wednesday it launched interceptors at a suspected aerial target believed to have crossed into northern Israel from Lebanese territory, prompting a rapid defensive response across the country's northern border region as authorities moved to assess the nature of the threat.

In a statement posted on X, the army said alerts had been triggered across several areas of northern Israel following the infiltration of a hostile aircraft, with residents in the affected areas instructed to follow standard safety protocols while the situation continued to develop. It said the outcome of the interception attempts was still being assessed and that no injuries had been reported so far.

The army added that separate alerts for rocket and missile fire were activated in the aftermath of the interception attempts, though it did not immediately provide further details on the origin or nature of the aerial target involved in the incident.
