Zelenskyy Reports Deadly Russian Strikes Across Ukraine

(MENAFN) At least 12 people are killed and dozens more injured in overnight Russian attacks across several parts of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy says seven of the fatalities occur in an assault targeting a railway depot in Kyiv. He also reports that four people are killed and 13 others wounded in Boryspil, where a five-story residential building sustains damage and around 50 residents are forced to evacuate.

Industrial sites in the area are also hit, according to the Ukrainian president.

In Odesa and the surrounding region, Russian strikes damage energy and export-related infrastructure, disrupting electricity supplies to thousands of households. A border crossing linking Ukraine with Romania is also damaged.

The attacks affect several other regions, including Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk. Zelenskyy says an Indian national is among those killed.

The Ukrainian president blames the high number of casualties on inadequate air-defense capabilities and urges international partners to step up deliveries of air-defense equipment. He calls for additional support through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative as well as direct bilateral agreements.
