Kishtwar Hospital Terminates Worker Over POCSO Arrest


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Kishtwar- The District Hospital Kishtwar has terminated the services of an HDF sanitation worker following her arrest by police in connection with a case registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to an order issued by the Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kishtwar, on August 31, Zareena Begum, wife of Shabbir Ahmed and a resident of Bandreena, Kishtwar, was arrested by Police Station Chatroo on August 30 in connection with FIR No. 34/2026.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 61(1), 65(2), 90, 91 and 92 of the BNS and Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 17 of the POCSO Act.

The hospital administration said it was formally informed about the arrest by the Station House Officer, Police Station Chatroo, through a wireless signal dated August 30.

The order stated that the allegations and nature of the offences were“extremely grave and serious” and rendered her continuation in service incompatible with the discipline, integrity, reputation and functioning of the public health institution.

“Therefore, in view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the services of Zareena Begum, HDF Sanitation Worker, District Hospital Kishtwar, are hereby terminated with immediate effect,” the order said.
