Minnesota State Fair Removes Anti-Trump Crop Art After Harassment
According to the Tribune, conservative news outlet Alpha News highlighted the artist's creation across social media, leading to others allegedly targeting, threatening, and sharing the artist's private address and personal details. The artist has not yet responded to a request for comment. Hyperallergic stated it would not reproduce the artwork's image out of concern for the artist's privacy.
Ike Whiting, a fellow crop artist familiar with the situation, informed Hyperallergic that the artist contacted the fair“with regard to her own safety” following the harassment.“This particular situation goes way too far,” Whiting said.“The need people feel to take matters into their own hands is shocking and unacceptable.”
