Defense Forces Complicate Russian Logistics In Advance Toward Kupiansk Trehubov
“Overall, the number of [enemy] groups has decreased, and their ability to maintain a logistical connection has also diminished. The only route, the only road that was open to the Russians was directly from the north, along the Oskil River through Holubivka. And since the road there has now become somewhat narrower, it is obvious that it has become more difficult for them, under attacks by Ukrainian drones, to move small assault groups,” Trehubov said.
According to him, the greatest threat currently comes from enemy strikes against the center of the Ukrainian bridgehead, where Russian forces are actively trying to break through from Pishchane toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
“This is the main point where they are concentrating their efforts, and it has been going on there for more than a month. But obviously, because it goes right through the center, it is dangerous for the Russians themselves, because they are also being hit from both sides,” the spokesman explained.
Asked why fighting has been particularly intense in the Lyman direction and north of Sloviansk, and what objective the enemy is pursuing, Trehubov said that the Russians are primarily seeking to capture Lyman. To this end, they are trying to establish control over neighboring settlements, including Yampil, and subsequently move as close as possible to the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk urban agglomeration.
“That is what all of this is being done for. This is their key objective both in this area and throughout the war, because the key objective in the war is still to reach the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration and take control of it,” the spokesman stressed.

Trehubov also noted that enemy aviation activity and the use of guided glide bombs have increased. Sumy region has been particularly affected, while around 50 glide bombs are dropped daily on the Lyman and Kupiansk areas.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian forces conducted an operation north of Kupiansk that narrowed the Russian bridgehead and complicated logistics for the occupiers' attempts to infiltrate the city with small infantry groups.
