Air Defences Intercept 10 Ballistic Missiles Launched From Iran - JAF

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Jordanian air defences intercepted and destroyed 10 of 13 ballistic missiles that entered the Kingdom's airspace in an attack launched from Iranian territory, the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) said.

In a statement late on Tuesday, JAF official spokesperson said that the remaining three missiles fell in remote areas away from populated centres, reporting no injuries or fatalities.

The spokesperson said that Jordan's air defence systems dealt with the missile attack in accordance with established operational procedures.

He added that specialised teams were dispatched to the sites where missile debris fell to secure the areas and take measures to ensure public safety.

The Armed Forces urged citizens to avoid approaching, touching or moving any unidentified objects or missile debris, calling on anyone who finds suspicious objects to immediately notify the relevant authorities.

The military also called on the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to rely on statements issued through official government channels.

The statement said that the Jordan Armed Forces units and formations remain on duty around the clock, while surveillance and air defence systems are maintaining a high state of readiness to respond to any potential threat.

The military said it is continuing to monitor and assess developments and will provide further information through official channels as necessary.
