14Th APPU Congress Begins In Thailand


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) "> KABUL (Pajhwok): The 14th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) has kicked off in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, with the participation of a delegation from state-owned Afghan Post.

Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Bahar, spokesman for the General Directorate of State-owned Enterprises, told Pajhwok Afghan News that representatives from 32 Asia-Pacific countries, including Afghanistan, are participating in the congress.

He said the congress aims to strengthen friendly and professional relations among member countries in the postal services sector, develop a four-year development strategy, establish training programmes and improve the quality of traditional and modern postal services.

He added that the APPU Congress is usually held every four years in one of the union's member countries.

The congress began on Monday and will run until September 4.
