Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour on Tuesday warned the public against fraudulent advertisements offering domestic worker recruitment services, urging people to verify that recruitment agencies are licensed before making payments or entering into agreements.

The Ministry cautioned that some unlicensed offices may publish convincing advertisements on social media and impersonate recruitment agencies while offering unauthorised services.

“Not every recruitment advertisement is what it seems,” the Ministry said, warning that dealing with unlicensed entities could put people's money and rights at risk.

The Ministry urged residents not to trust domestic worker recruitment advertisements immediately and to verify the source before taking any action.

Members of the public can check whether an agency is authorised by consulting the official list of approved recruitment offices available on the Ministry of Labour's website

The Ministry encouraged the public to“think twice, verify first and choose licensed” when seeking domestic worker recruitment services.
