Jordan Prepares To Chair 52Nd Arab Labor Conference

Amman, Sept. 1 (Petra) -- Transport and Labor Minister Nidal Qatamin and Arab Labor Organization Director General Fayez Mutairi discussed preparations for the 52nd Arab Labor Conference, scheduled to be held in Cairo from September 13 to 20, 2026.

The meeting focused on arrangements for Jordan to chair this year's conference under Qatamin's presidency, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation with the organization on labor and workers' issues.

The two sides also exchanged views on key challenges facing Arab labor markets amid current developments.

Qatamin reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to participating in the conference's annual sessions and highlighted the importance of joint Arab action, while expressing appreciation for the organization's decision to select Jordan to chair the current session.

Mutairi praised Jordan's support for Arab causes and noted that its chairmanship of the conference reflects its commitment to issues of common Arab interest.

The meeting is part of a series of consultations being held by the organization ahead of the conference, which brings together representatives of governments, employers, and workers from across the Arab world.
