New Illegal Israeli Settlement Emerges in Jenin Governorate
(MENAFN) Israeli authorities establish a new settlement on Palestinian land in the Jenin governorate of the northern occupied West Bank on Monday, according to reports.
The settlement, known as Noa, is located southeast of Jenin and south of the former Ganim and Kadim settlements.
A ceremony marking its establishment takes place with the participation of several Israeli government ministers and members of the Knesset.
The move highlights what Palestinian officials describe as increasing government backing for the expansion of Israeli settlements across occupied Palestinian territories.
The new settlement is established as settlement activity intensifies in the northern West Bank, particularly in areas where Israeli communities were removed in 2005 under the so-called “Disengagement plan.”
Under that plan, Israel evacuated four settlements in the northern occupied West Bank — Ganim, Kadim, Homesh and Sa-Nur — while also withdrawing Israeli settlements from the Gaza Strip.
