Kallas Urges Countries With Interceptor Missiles To Provide Them To Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Kallas made the statement while speaking to the press before the meeting, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“July and August were the deadliest months for civilians in Ukraine. Russia is really escalating its attacks to inflict as much damage as possible on the Ukrainian people, to break them. Ukrainians, of course, remain strong. And we have to support them. The main issue is air defense,” she said.

“They do not have enough interceptor missiles. We know that some countries have interceptor missiles that are nearing the end of their service lives, so it would be very good if they were transferred to Ukraine so that it could use them to protect its people,” the High Representative said.

She added that the EU was also discussing the issue with countries outside the European Union, although the discussions remain difficult.

“At the same time, of course, work is also continuing to develop European interceptor missiles jointly with Ukraine,” Kallas concluded.
