Trump Seeks Trial of Iranian Leadership Over Protester Deaths
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump calls for Iran’s leadership to face a war crimes trial, following allegations that more than 100,000 protesters have been killed by Iranian authorities.
“They must be tried for war crimes against humanity,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
Trump describes Iran as "officially a failed nation" and says its leadership is in "total disarray."
He claims the country has lost key military and economic capabilities, arguing that Tehran no longer has functioning naval or air forces and lacks a viable currency.
“They have no Navy, they have no Air Force, they have no currency,” the US president claimed.
Trump further says Iran’s remaining assets are limited to what he describes as “fake news” from the US and a “willingness to kill their protesters,” while putting the alleged number of demonstrators killed at 100,000.
"It is dead," he said.
The reported figure of 100,000 deaths has not been independently verified, and there is currently no independent confirmation of the alleged toll.
