EASA Renews Gulf Flight Advisory as US-Iran Standoff Deepens
(MENAFN) The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has pushed back the expiration of its Gulf region flight advisory to September 30, 2026, citing mounting geopolitical instability in the area.
The Cologne-headquartered agency issued the update Monday under its Conflict Zone Information Bulletin covering the Middle East and Gulf region.
Under the revised bulletin, the civil aviation warning spanning the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE now remains in effect until the end of September.
The extension follows a fresh escalation in military tensions between the United States and Iran — the first such flare-up since late July.
Notably, EASA also scaled back its broader guidance, which had previously urged airlines to steer clear of all airspace belonging to the countries named in the bulletin.
