I graduated with a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009, after which I was a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology at UC San Diego and then an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Dartmouth College. in 2019 I accepted a Senior Lecturer position in the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne, and am currently Associate Professor in the Science of Learning. My research focuses on how the human mind learns and the implications for student learning and instruction.
