Asia-Pacific Travelers Remain Upbeat About Travel Despite Global Uncertainties

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Bangkok: Travelers across the Asia-Pacific region continue to view travel positively despite economic pressures and global uncertainties, with meaningful experiences and hassle-free journeys increasingly influencing their decisions, according to a new study by Booking.

The company's inaugural Travel Happiness Index surveyed more than 10,000 travelers across 10 Asia-Pacific markets to examine the emotional, financial and practical factors shaping travel behavior.

The study found that 98 percent of respondents associate travel with positive emotions, while 86 percent said having a trip planned gives them something to look forward to and improves their mood. Nearly three-quarters said anticipation helps them deal with everyday pressures.

Travelers, however, are increasingly favoring simpler experiences rather than tightly packed itineraries. Natural scenery, spending time with companions and food and drink emerged as major contributors to a satisfying trip, while 59 percent rated family travel as their most enjoyable form of travel.

Despite concerns over extreme weather, health risks, crime, inflation and political instability, travel demand remains resilient. About 90 percent of respondents said they would adjust their plans rather than cancel a trip altogether.

Digital tools are also playing a growing role, with 84 percent saying technology makes booking easier and 88 percent feeling more confident when using trusted booking platforms.

Booking's Asia-Pacific Managing Director Laura Houldsworth said travel is increasingly viewed as a way to reconnect, feel better and maintain optimism despite uncertainty.
