Jordan, Saudi Business Council Discuss Expanding Investment, Ppps
According to a Ministry of Investment statement, Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the“deep-rooted” ties binding Jordan and Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of building upon them through practical cooperation between business communities, identifying priority sectors, and leveraging private-sector expertise to establish joint ventures and enter new markets.
The minister noted that Syria's reconstruction phase opens new horizons for regional investment, affirming that Jordan, with its strategic location and economic and logistical infrastructure, is well-positioned to serve as an effective platform for companies seeking to participate in rebuilding efforts, according to a statement by Minister of Investment.
Abu Ghazaleh underscored the need to build alliances between Jordanian and Saudi firms to pool expertise and capabilities, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and ability to capitalise on reconstruction opportunities.
The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment Zaher Qatarneh and Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Khalil Haj Tawfiq.
During the meeting, Abu Ghazaleh urged council members to participate in the Jordan-EU Investment Conference, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, describing it as an opportunity to network with global investors and explore new avenues of collaboration.
For his part, Co-Chair of the Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council Abdulrahman Thubaiti affirmed the strength of relations between the two brotherly nations, highlighting the council's keenness to enhance communication between business communities and explore new opportunities to boost trade and investment ties.
The Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council is co-chaired by Thubaiti representing the Saudi side and Haj Tawfiq representing the Jordanian side. The council is holding a series of meetings in the Kingdom this week to further enhance bilateral economic cooperation.
