September Could Change A Lot We Need To Work With Partners To Achieve Peace Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his evening video addres, Ukrinform reports.

“We have just spoken with representatives of the U.S. president - Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. They are preparing for a meeting and further communication with the Russian side, as well as a visit to Ukraine. We discussed our positions. I briefed Steve and Jared on the changing situation here in Ukraine, on the front line, and on Russian attacks,” he said.

The parties also discussed possible steps to encourage Russia to“set a course toward ending the war.”

“We need the mood in Moscow, and in Putin personally, to be the right one - a willingness to end the war, not to wage it. For now, unfortunately, all intelligence assessments - ours and those of our partners - and all signals from Russia indicate that the Russian leader personally still wants the war to continue. Even though, by the way, the overwhelming majority of his own people would already agree to stop the war along the line of contact,” Zelensky stressed.

“We will see what the representatives of the U.S. president manage to achieve. September could change a lot, and we need to do everything together with our partners to protect people, protect lives and achieve peace,” he added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, discussing further coordination between the negotiating teams and efforts to develop solutions aimed at achieving peace.
