Investment Minister, Saudi-Jordanian Business Council Talk Expanding Partnership

Amman, Aug 31 (Petra) – Minister of Investment Tariq Abu Ghazaleh met on Monday with members of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council to discuss prospects of economic and investment cooperation and expanding partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.

The minister cited the deep Jordanian-Saudi relations, noting the importance of building on them through increased cooperation between the business communities.

He stressed the need to identify priority sectors, and leverage the expertise and potentials of the private sectors in both countries to launch joint ventures and access new markets and opportunities.

Abu Ghazaleh said reconstruction in Syria opens new horizons for investment and business in the region, noting that Jordan's strategic location and economic and logistical capabilities offer a platform for companies wishing to join in that process.

He stressed the importance of building alliances between Jordanian and Saudi companies to combine their expertise and capabilities, enhancing their competitiveness and enabling them to capitalize on reconstruction projects.

Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Jordan Chamber of Commerce President and co-chairman of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council, invited council members to participate in a Jordanian-European Investment Conference, in the last quarter of the year, calling it an opportunity to network with companies and investors and explore new cooperation and investment scopes.

Abdulrahman Al-Thubaiti, co-chairman of the council, noted the deep Jordanian-Saudi relations, reiterating a commitment to enhancing communication between the business communities and explore new opportunities for cooperation.

The council is holding a series of meetings and discussions in Jordan this week as part of its efforts to enhance communication between the business communities of both countries.
