MP Highlights Hashemite Custodianship Over Jerusalem Holy Sites
Amman, Aug. 31 (Petra) -- Member of the Diplomatic Parliamentary Committee of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), MP Khaled Abu Hassan, on Monday stressed the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and Jordan's support of the Palestinian issue.
In remarks at a meeting of the committee on issues referred to it by the AIPU 39th conference, Abu Hassan praised Arab and Islamic support of the Hashemite Custodianship, which preserved Jerusalem's spatial and historical identity.
The meeting, held via Zoom, reviewed issues on the agenda for drafting reports and recommendations for an upcoming AIPU Executive Council session in Cairo.
