Abigail Witmer joined the faculty at The Ohio State University College of Optometry as an Assistant Clinical Professor in July 2024. She primarily works as a clinical attending for 3rd and 4th year optometry students in the Pediatrics, Binocular Vision, and Primary Vision Care Clinics. She has also worked with 2nd year students in Intro to Primary Care Clinic and as a teaching assistant for 3rd years in their Clinical Binocular Vision Lab. Additionally, Abigail provides one day a week direct patient care at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As of October 2025, Dr. Witmer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Abigail completed a Pediatric Optometry residency at University of Alabama Birmingham. She is a 2023 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she received the Excellence in Binocular Vision and Pediatrics Graduation Award. She completed her undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College in Erie, PA, where she competed as a Division III swimmer. Abigail grew up in Herndon, VA, outside of Washington D.C., where her family still resides.
