Ultra-Orthodox Jews Protest Military Service in Tel Aviv
(MENAFN) Israeli police clash with ultra-Orthodox Jewish demonstrators in Tel Aviv on Monday as protesters gather to oppose the enlistment of members of their community into the military.

According to reports, dozens of ultra-Orthodox protesters attempt to prevent access to roads leading to the facility during the morning demonstration. Some protesters spend the night outside the recruitment center so they can be present when enlistment procedures begin at dawn.
The demonstration seeks to stop the recruitment of ultra-Orthodox Jews into the Israeli military, an issue that has remained highly contentious within the community.
Ultra-Orthodox Jews, commonly known as Haredim, continue to oppose compulsory military service despite a June 2024 Supreme Court ruling requiring their enlistment and ordering the withdrawal of financial support from religious institutions whose students refuse to serve.
