Madaba, Aug. 31 (Petra) -- Greater Madaba Municipality will hold the city's first Guava Festival on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Al-Salam Square in front of the municipal building, with activities running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Head of the Greater Madaba Municipality Committee Haitham Jweinat told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the festival aims to support local agricultural products, promote Madaba-grown guava, and provide farmers and local producers with an opportunity to market their products.

The festival will feature guava and guava-based products, including ice cream, alongside locally grown figs and grapes. The program will also include artistic and folkloric performances.

Jweinat noted that the event will bring together agriculture, heritage, culture, and entertainment while providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about and purchase locally produced goods.

The municipality invited residents and visitors to attend the festival as part of its efforts to support local agriculture and promote economic and tourism activity in the governorate.
