Israeli Rabbi Pushes for Palestinian Expulsion from Occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) An Israeli rabbi calls for Palestinians to be expelled from the occupied West Bank, arguing that non-Jews should not have national rights in territory he refers to as the “land of Israel.”

In footage released Sunday, Menachem Ben Shahar is heard addressing a group and saying that Arabs who reject Jewish sovereignty should leave the occupied territory.

Ben Shahar also makes a more extreme claim regarding children, saying that even a 5-year-old child “loses his right to exist” if the child’s parents are regarded as “enemies.”

The circumstances surrounding the footage, including when and where the remarks were made, have not been immediately established.

Israeli authorities detained and questioned Ben Shahar in October 2025 over allegations of promoting extremist messages and encouraging violence against Palestinians, according to reports. He had previously called for the Palestinian town of Huwara to be “wiped out.”

Israeli settlements throughout the occupied West Bank are considered illegal under international law. In a July 2024 advisory opinion, the International Court of Justice determined that Israel’s continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territory is unlawful and said it should end “as rapidly as possible.”
